Belarusian Literature Day will be organized in Belarus

The organizers of this year's celebrations of the Belarusian Literature Day expect that the event will attract many guests from abroad, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Zharko said following a meeting of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Literature Day celebrations in Polotsk. Members of the organizing committee reviewed the progress in the preparations of major facilities for the Literature Day celebrations. They visited the Art Gallery, Polotsk State University, St Sophia Cathedral, and the Museum of Belarusian Book Printing. The plenary meeting discussed major aspects of the preparations for the Belarusian Literature Day celebrations in Polotsk.

“The celebrations should become a landmark event. We mark the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing and the 1155th anniversary of the founding of the city of Polotsk. Special attention will be paid to the subject of Belarusian statehood. The city deserves special attention, and many foreign guests, including diplomats and writers from different countries, will come to see it.
