How To See The World Without Leaving Gomel

Gomel is the second most populated city in Belarus. The city has a rich history and a lot of various attractions. Most of them have not only cultural but also historical significance. However, one should not think that the city was completely "mothballed" and all the objects that may be interesting to residents and guests of the city are reduced to "historical heritage". Still, it is important not only to "preserve", but also "multiply" the number of such objects. As a result, this approach makes visiting the city a much more entertaining pastime than some contemplation of antiquity. All the sights are a novelty for tourists, but not for the local residents. Indeed, it is hard to admire the same building or statue, when you see it day after day.

Fortunately, as has already been said, time in Gomel does not stand still. Regularly there are new houses, new sculptures and other objects that can be classed as attractions. At the same time, you want something unusual. And such an object appeared. Perhaps, it would be even more correct to call this landmark "an artistic composition."

On the eve of 2017 in the Gomel public garden named after Gromyko (better known among Gomel residents under the old name, "Pioneer Square", which is located on Sovetskaya Street), an art composition has appeared, allowing you to see the most famous sights from around the world. The models of architectural monuments were installed in December 2016. For the sake of justice it is worth noting that in the New Year's entourage and with lighting they look even more beautiful. However, under the bright sun they do not look worse.

In total, there are eight square layouts. Among the buildings - such famous sights as the Moscow Kremlin, the Sphinx, the pyramids, the Great Wall of China, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Dubai hotel-sail, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, and the diamond of the National Library of Belarus. Miniatures are made on such a scale to successfully get the picture.

Another plus is that the "world sights" are arranged in a way that does not look obtrusive, as if they were grouped in the same place. Fortunately, there is no such shortage in this case: layouts are distributed on the square in such a way that you can see them all, just walking down Sovetskaya Street. Well, the idea turned out to be quite successful and interesting. We hope that the project will continue to show various objects that can rightfully take their place among the sights of the city.
