Who needs a visa?

Visa is commonly required to travel to Belarus. However visa-free regime is provided for the citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cuba (for a term not exceeding 30 days), Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia (provided that there is a private invitation or tourist voucher), Moldova, Mongolia (provided that there is a private invitation or tourist document), Montenegro (for a term not exceeding 30 days provided that there is a private invitation or tourist voucher), Qatar (for a term not exceeding 30 days), Russia, Serbia (for a term not exceeding 30 days), Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela (for a term not exceeding 90 days).

What are the types of Belarusian visa?

In Belarus, the following types of visas are provided:

  • B – transit visa;
  • C — short-term visa, valid for up to 90 days;
  • D — long-term visa, valid for up to 1 year with the right to stay up to 90 days.

Visas may be single, double and multiple-entry. Other types are: Student visa for Belarus, Belarusian temporary worker visa, Spousal visa or Partner visa, Belarusian Marriage Visa.

Where is it possible to get a Belarusian visa?

Belarusian visa is normally issued by a Belarusian embassy or consulate or other diplomatic representations, but it’s also possible to get a visa on arrival at Minsk National Airport. What is necessary to get a visa?

To obtain a Belarusian visa, the following documents may be required:

  • a passport valid at least 90 days after the expected date of departure from Belarus
  • a duly completed visa application form
  • a photograph
  • a confirmation of the consular fee paid
  • additional documents.

If you want to stay in Belarus for 5 days or less, you can visit our country visa-free. Citizens of 80 countries can enter Belarus visa-free for up to 5 days through Minsk National Airport, the press service of the President of Belarus reports. These are 39 countries of Europe, including the entire European Union, Brazil, Indonesia, the USA, Japan, and other countries. First of all, these are favorable countries in terms of migration, Belarus' strategic partners which have introduced visa-free regimes for Belarusian citizens on a unilateral basis. New regulations also apply to the non-citizens of Latvia and stateless persons of Estonia. 

The citizens of Vietnam, Haiti, Gambia, Honduras, India, China, Lebanon, Namibia, Samoa should also have a valid multi-visa to the EU states or the Schengen Area with a mark confirming the entry to their territory, plane tickets with a confirmation of the departure from the Minsk National Airport within 5 days after the date of the entry. To enter Belarus visa-free, foreigners need to have a valid passport or other travel document, a certain sum of money (equivalent of 2 basic amounts, or 42 Belarusian rubles, for each day of stay), a medical insurance valid in Belarus. The visa-free regime does not apply to people arriving to Belarus by plane from Russia and planning to go to the airports of Russia (these are internal flights with no border control).
